Spiritual Growth
There are two places where people look for information on spiritual matters. They look to the ideas of men, or they look to the ideas of God. However, the Bible says, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.” (I Corinthians 2:9, NIV) If we look to our own thoughts, we shall never find the truth of God. The prophet Isaiah wrote,
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD.
As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9, NIV)
If we wish to know Jesus and make Him known to others, it is necessary for us to listen to the voice of God. His voice is heard in the words of the Bible.
