Before You Live Together

Author David Gudgel, a pastor, has seen it. Living together before marriage has become more and more popular in our land, to the point where it has become acceptable in our culture.   One can understand the reasoning:

§     “We need to find out if we are compatible.”
§     “We are in love!”
§     “We don’t need a piece of paper if we are committed to each other.”
§     “It’s cheaper than paying two rents.”

But what appears to be reasonable, is not necessarily what is helpful. David Gudgel seeks to find out: Does living together before marriage really work? Does it bring the desired results couples hope for? What singles will learn, and what parents and grandparents will learn, is that living together has some built-in pitfalls. The sad fact is, most live together arrangements don’t make it in the long run. Indeed, the strategy of living together before marriage can plant the seeds of ruin for the hopeful couple.

If you are looking for reasons to encourage your single young adult or grandchild to wait until marriage to live with the opposite sex, this book will give you needed help. And if you are single and hoping one day to get married, or if you already have a potential mate in mind, you will find the information presented in this book helpful so as to keep from running your relationship into a potential shipwreck. This book will cause you to consider, “If I want the best for my marriage, is living together before marriage my best option?”

We recommend this book for young adults, teens, parents and grandparents. Best of all, read it together as a family and discuss what you learn.
