The Pastoral Epistles: I & IITimothy, Titus

So that you may know how one ought to conduct himself in the household of God"  (I Timothy 3:15).  These are the words of the apostle Paul to the young pastor, Timothy, who was serving in Ephesus.  Because the letter was written to a pastor, this epistle - along with II Timothy and Titus - is one of the "Pastoral Epistles."  In specific, this letter explains how matters are to be conducted in the churchess.

Paul gives instruction on the qualifications of pastors and lay leaders.  He gives them instruction ofr worship and tells them how to serve their flocks, the young and the elderly, the widows and older men, the wealthy and the servants.  Paul issues repeated warnings against false teaching, and urges faithful teaching and godly conduct.  While the applications to pastors are obvious, these words are for all Christians as they learn how God would oder things in the church.  This class will be taught by Pastor Cloeter on Wednesday nights at 6:00p
