How a Pastor Prepares for a Sermon

What does a pastor do to prepare for a sermon? Some things are obvious. He must study the text of Scripture which is the basis of his sermon. He must pick out its major thoughts or teachings. Eventually he must devise an outline so he can present the material in a way in which people can follow. During these two Sundays, Pastor Cloeter will describe this process and the class together will study a text together, helping pastor as he prepares for an upcoming sermon. This class will meet in Nazareth, Room 119.
