The Book of Numbers

The Book of Numbers is the divine record of Israel’s experience from the time of the Exodus from Egypt until their entrance into the Promised Land forty years later. The book records the sad failure of the people to go forward with God’s power to occupy the land. The result was their forty year wandering in the wilderness. There trials and tribulations came upon them. Interspersed between the historical parts of the book we have laws given by God. The highlights of the book are, first, that it points forward to our Redeemer, Jesus, in the account of the bronze serpent. Second, we have a prophecy about Christ coming from Balaam. This class will be taught by Truman Criss in the Fellowship Hall.
