The Reformation sparked by Martin Luther (1483 - 1546) reclaimed three fundamental teachings of the Bible.
First, we are saved from sin, death and the power of the devil By Grace Alone, that is, solely by the love of God for undeserving sinners, without any works or contribution on our parts.
At the same time, we are saved By Faith Alone, that is, by trusting in all that our Lord Jesus, true God and true man, did for us when He died for our sins and rose again. It is faith in Him alone as our Savior, and not faith in our own goodness or works, that brings us forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
The third fundamental teaching of the Reformation is that we gain our knowledge of God, our salvation from sin and our direction for godly living By Scripture Alone. The Bible is the word of God. All other books, writings and speech are the words of man. Concerning the Bible the Apostle Paul wrote,
…and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (II Timothy 3:15-17, NIV)
We invite you to explore with us the wonderful truths found in the word of God, the Bible.
